My Unique Skills & Approach
Taking professional wedding and portrait photos requires a very unique skill set as a photographer. I need to be able to take pictures on the fly in every situation, in every lighting condition and capture fleeting moments from the best possible angle and composition; all without being intrusive, to capture your moments as naturally as they unfold.
In business, I first and foremost take a professional approach. But when taking photos it’s important to think of the psychology of the the person in front of the lens. I have found that most often a relaxed, friendly, jovial and courteous approach works best to get the most out of people. When I don’t want to be seen or to catch those natural shots, I blend in with your celebration; but take comfort and know that I am able to take the lead when guidance is required and have a calm that only comes from years of experience. Sometimes we need to create those moments together through the opportunities that arise, and that is when I may suggest or guide you so that we may catch something a little extra special. This enables me the ability to freeze the best moments; those honest, candid moments that tell the real story of your day and who you are as a couple.
Through years of experience I have crafted a way of using remote camera flashes which enables me to produce outstanding photos in even the most unfavourable lighting conditions. There are countless photographers who can take good pictures in the right conditions but only a few that can master the art of taking great photos in really bad conditions. An interest in producing the perfect photo as well as living in Sweden has helped me develop this skill. Long winters with exceptionally little light, inside and outside as well as winter pale customers; the challenge was huge!
The digital darkroom is just as important as the photos themselves. In this post-production phase I take great care bringing your photographs to life utilising the latest software and editing techniques. My graphic design skills and appreciation for light and shadow ensures your images are professionally edited, whilst still maintaining their natural character.
